Obituary of Gary Chandler Patton

Brackney, PA - Gary Chandler Patton, 76, of Brackney, PA, was called home by his Lord and Savior to be reunited with his precious wife of 51 years, Daya Jane Patton, on Saturday March 3, 2018. He was also predeceased by his parents; Frances and Emily Patton, brother, Gerald Patton, sisters; Grace Armfield, Gail Seaman. He is survived by his sisters, Greta (Rodney) Price, and Gloria (Howard) Washburn, sons; Jeffrey Patton and Joshua (Tammy) Patton, grandchildren; Victoria and Cameron Patton, Steven (Cate) Walker II, Ashley Walker and Megan (Andrew) Thigpen, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary proudly served in the U.S. Navy following graduation from High School. Even more importantly, he followed and served the Lord for the entirety of his life. He was a kind, gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather, who truly treasured his family. He felt extremely blessed for the love of his wife, Daya, who stood by his side for 51 years. He was a true gentleman, Daya never opened a door! He worked for IBM for nearly 30 years and accepted an early retirement. He then relocated to Greece, NY where he continued to work for PEKO for an additional 20 years. He was a member of the Webster Bible Church and continued to cherish his years serving the Lord at Grace Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at Strong Memorial SICU. A special thank you to Sarajo Mendez for your love and support to Dad, and to those who were so instrumental in providing care to Dad. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 765 Main St. Vestal, NY on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
