Richard L. Diefendorf
Endicott - Richard L. Diefendorf, 83, of Endicott, died Thursday, April 5th after a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents, LeRoy and Laura Diefendorf, and his in-laws Stanley Lockwood and Florence (Lockwood) Main. He was also pre-deceased by his brothers LeRoy and John and his sister Sally Link and his sisters-in-law Jackie Gregory and Dorothy Ann Willson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice, and his sons Bob (Beth), Mick (Brenda), Steve, John (Stephanie) and daughters Barb (Steve) Hammerstone and Sue. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Darragh Goodsite, brother-in-laws Ralph Lockwood (Shirley) and Ralph Gregory along with many nephews and nieces.
Dick was a 1952 graduate of Vestal High School. He was employed by IBM for 39 years and a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years, serving as a Scout Leader, Camp Master, Commissioner, and the father of four Eagle Scouts. Dick was a good and honest man.
The family will receive family and friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main Street, Endicott, Monday from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm. The Reverend Jeff Aiosa will be officiating.
