Dorothy Ruby (Briggs) Prichard
of Endicott
Dorothy Ruby (Briggs) Prichard, 90, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2009 after a short illness. Dorothy was born March 3, 1919 in Endicott, NY, the oldest child of Clark and Ruby Briggs. Dorothy was formerly employed by the US Post Office as a letter carrier, serving faithfully for many years. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 1700 Auxiliary, Iroquois Antique Automobile Club and three Red Hat groups - Carousel Valley Red Hats, Susquehanna Sweethearts and Valley La Tee Da's. She was an avid painter, loved gardening, cherished her many pets and always greeted everyone with a warm smile. She was predeceased in 2005 by her beloved husband of fifty-nine years, Orrin and is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Lois Prichard, Bear, DE; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Smith, Endicott, NY; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Michelle and Kevin Wahila; one great grandson, Orrin Connor Wahila, Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Virginia Stanley, Endicott, NY; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Briggs, Ormond Beach, FL and Doris Heinemann, Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2009 and the funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Union Presbyterian Church, 200 East Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760. The Revs. Patricia J. Raube and Michelle L. Wahila will officiate. A private burial will be held the afternoon of July 21, 2009 in the Lynn Cemetery, Lynn, PA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Union Presbyterian Church, 200 East Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760 or Lourdes Hospice Department, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905.
