Obituary of Doris J DeHaas
Doris J. DeHaas, 93, of Endicott, fell into the arms of the Lord on Sunday morning September 2, 2018 at Ideal Senior Living Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard "Bert" DeHaas in 2009, Father, Charles Hamlin; mother Doris (Seymour) Hamlin; sister Katherine Harrington. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Diana DeHaas Endwell, Terry and Shirley DeHaas Endicott. Grandchildren Gregory DeHaas, Traci Smith, Ryan DeHaas, Jason DeHaas, Derek DeHaas. Great grandchildren, Leif, Issac, Brady, Luke, Brianna, Billy and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings: Raymond Hamlin, Ralph Hamlin, Isiabell Wilson, Lois Brownell, Barbra Race. After graduating from the Rochester School for the Deaf, she came back to Binghamton worked at the Binghamton Dress Factory. After marrying and starting a family she later worked side by side with her husband at Ideal Laundry and Bates Troy for approximately 30 years. She was a member of the Triple Cities Club for the Deaf for many years and was the oldest surviving member.
Funeral and Internment services will be held Saturday 3:00 pm from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Reverend Peter Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Endicott, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Southern Tier Independence Center, Binghamton.
