Obituary of Bernice F Lawrence

Endicott - Bernice F. Lawrence of Endicott, New York, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 29, 2018. Bernice was born on October 12, 1925 in Kershaw, South Carolina. Predeceased parents, Simon and Maggie Williams. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Othniel (Larry) Lawrence; sisters Rebecca Byas and Thelma Middleton; brothers Simon Williams and Jesse Williams. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Geraldine Williams. She is also survived by her nieces; Barbara Middleton, Linda Middleton Fleming, Louise Middleton, Dorothea Wright Mullen, Frances Wright Davis, Margaret Wright, Sheri Middleton, Karen Williams Davis and Donna Williams, nephews; Keith Williams, Jeffery Williams, George Williams and Sean Williams. Bernice is also survived by five generations of nieces and nephews, several cousins and a host of friends. After retiring in 1983 from Bell Atlantic, Bernice moved to Endicott, New York from Queens Village, New York. She worked at Boscov's, Wilson Hospital and the Press and Sun-Bulletin (Circulation Dept.). Bernice was a member and volunteer with the Verizon Pioneers, Lioness Club and Johnson City Senior Citizen Center. Bernice enjoyed meeting people, traveling and dancing. The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12noon from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 East Main Street, Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 11:00AM until service time at noon.
