So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. What a terrific human being he was. Always a smile for everyone and just a great guy to hang out with. We ran on the VHS track team together.
The picture of him on this sight is a really great one of Bill. Friendly, positive, and a wonderful all round person. I saw him a few years ago at a Vestal reunion, and he was still the same great guy.
Love and prayers for him and his family and many friends.

To Bev and family, my sincerest regrets and condolences for your family’s loss. Bill was one of those rare individuals who simply transcended the spectrum of personalities, never afraid to spend time talking with anyone, even if they weren’t part of the ‘in-crowd’. My first day at work for IBM was given off to all employees in recognition of John F. Kennedy’s death. My second day at work saw me working the same dreaded second shift and department as Bill, something akin to dropping into an abyss. During the next few years we shared a lot of laughs, recalling times past over lunch and often behind a que stick at Johnny’s Billiards. A favorite refrain was; “How do you figure we get out of here?” A trip to the vending machines always resulted in a war of odds and evens to see who would be the un-fortunate buyer. The IBM moniker of I’ve Been Moved spared few who worked there, Bill ended up transferring to Owego and I to the Glendale Lab, an escape of sorts. Occasionally we would cross paths at the Country Club waiting to tee off with our respective leagues. Even during those short interludes, it was a pleasure catching up with Bill. In the grand scheme of things, we mortals don’t spend a lot of time here on earth, but I have to say that those spent with Bill, his wit and infectious smile, will always be cherished. Wherever the journey takes us Bill, keep it on the short grass.
