Obituary of Dorothy E. Decker

Dorothy E. Decker of Vestal, NY Dorothy E. Decker, 81, lifetime resident of Vestal, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harold M. Decker I; parents, Floyd and Leona Canfield; brothers, Richard Canfield and Robert Canfield. Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Janice Decker of Endicott, Dana and Bonnie Decker of Horseheads; and daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mark Hayman of Sayre; five grandchildren, Darcy Decker of Horseheads, Dawne (Kenneth) Miles of Knoxville, PA, Emily (Wesley Grudzien) Hayman of Toledo, OH, Benjamin Hayman of Howard, OH, and Heather (Matt Dringo) Decker of Endicott; brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Jean) Canfield of Burlington, WI; sister-in-law, Marie Canfield of Friendsville, PA; brother-in-law, William (Jean) Decker of Vestal; sisters-in-law, Lillian (Robert) Pomeroy of Endicott, Francis (Louis) Friend of Cobleskill and Beverly Decker of Endicott. Dorothy was a member of South Apalachin Baptist Church and Naomi Circle. She worked as a Medical Assistant throughout her career for Drs. Richard Buker and Melvin Jones as well as Vestal Medical Assocs. Friends and relatives are invited to the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott on Saturday, August 29, 2009, from noon to 3 p.m. with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Michael Jayne of the South Apalachin Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Naomi Circle or el Rancho de Paz through the South Apalachin Baptist Church, 4116 Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin, NY 13732.
