I have just seen the obituary notice for Professor Eisch in Chem & Eng News. I was an undergraduate 3rd year student in Professor Eisch's first Organic Chemistry course at Catholic University. It was a brilliant course, in a very modern Physical Organic mode (Morrison & Boyd text), and it was brilliantly taught by Prof. Eisch. This experience had a huge impact on me; it was one of the two courses that convinced me to be a Chemistry major rather than an English Literature major, which directed the rest of my professional life. I have always been extremely grateful to Professor Eisch , and I mourn his passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends in their loss.

Dear Joan,
I am so sorry for your loss. You and Jack had a wonderful life together and very productive, giving back so much to this troubled world. It is a better place because of you both. Jack's long list of accomplishments is very impressive and a wonderful legacy. I'm sure he will be missed by many.
I share your sadness as Russ passed away at 82 on February 16th of this year.
May God comfort you and give you strength for the years ahead. I lean on Him.
Audrey (Eisch) Bunchkowski
