Obituary of Patsy R. Bennett

ENDICOTT - Patsy R. Bennett, 91, of Endicott, went to be with the Lord on Monday October 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Eleanore in 2011, his parents and siblings. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Karen (Chester) Gural, Margaret Quezada, Joseph (Terry) Bennett, Louis (Velma) Bennett, and Patricia (Donald) Burshnick, 8 grandchildren Michael Knowles, Bridget (Isaac) Sunkes John Quezada, Joshua (Kristin) Bennett, Christa Bennett, Charles (Abby) Bennett, Catherine (Michael Maddi) Bennett, Dominque Burshnick, Heather Awres, Don Burshnick and great grandchildren Holden Sunkes, Eleanor Sunkes, Lucas Bennett, Alyssa Maddi, Jaidus Burshnick, Ava Burshnick, Teri Burshnick, Donald Burshnick,Destini Awers, Sebastin Awers and Oscar Awers. He also left behind many loving nieces and nephews. He is survived by 5 sister in laws Mary Bennett, Alice Clogston, Shelba Jean Hescock, Barbara Cole, Sandi Cole and 2 brother in laws Arnold and Carlos Cole. Patsy was a 40 plus year employee of Endicott Johnson Corporation as a Machinist. He served our country in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 in the L Company, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Infantry 2nd Division and earned the Bronze Star. His family were one of the founding families of St. Anthony of Padua Church. His 91 years of being a member where he was baptized, receiving his First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Married Eleanore there in 1954. He received the Anointing of the Sick in Wilson hospital as well as at his home with his family surrounding him. He will always remembered as a devoted parishioner as well as a devoted catholic hold firm to his faith all the way to the end. His family will always remember him as a hard working and devoted Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Son and Husband willing to help out all that asked. He loved the cottage at Forest Lake Pennsylvania, that he along with his father, brother and uncle built decade's earlier. The Bennett – Brocco – Fargnoli families enjoyed many summers there both working and playing. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday October 11, 2019 at St. Anthony's Church at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony's Church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Patsy can be made to Hospice at Mercy House, 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
