Obituary of Florence L. Caforio

Florence L. Caforio of Basking Ridge, NJ Florence L. Caforio, formerly of Endicott, NY, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 26, 2009 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Clara Frost; her husband, Frank N. Caforio; a son, Raymond Caforio; and two sisters, Ethel Coleman and Alice Walker. She is survived by her beloved children, two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Wendell Laurents, Detroit, MI, Elaine and Jerry Savage, Basking Ridge, NJ; and three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Carol Caforio, Apalachin, NY, Russell and Sharon Caforio, Elmhurst, IL, Paul and Debbie Caforio, Owego, NY. She was the grandmother of 15 grandchildren, Phoebe Laurents Rice, Daniel Laurents, Martha Laurents Meyer, Paul Laurents, Timothy Savage, Jeremy Savage, Ruth Savage Huebner, David Caforio, Stephen Caforio, Tina Caforio Christensen, Jonathan Caforio, Peter Caforio, Ruth Caforio, Rebekah Caforio, Rachel Caforio ; plus several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary D'Andrea; her aunt, Margaret Chauncey; several nieces, nephews and many friends. While raising her children, she occasionally worked for the Family & Children Society, helping mothers with their new babies. After raising her children, Florence worked as a Home Health Aid and later enjoyed driving school bus for the Union-Endicott School District. In 1994, she moved to the Ridge Oak Senior Citizen Village in Basking Ridge, NJ. Florence also loved cooking and baking for both family and friends. All of the family remembers and will miss Mom's delicious spaghetti and meatballs, Italian cookies and fresh baked homemade bread. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, NY with the funeral service following. Burial to be held in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park, 3997 Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Voice of the Martyrs, P.O.
