Obituary of Gerald M Bilka

Gerald M. Bilka of Vestal Gerald M. Bilka, 61, of Vestal, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Geraldine. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Bridgett of New Hampshire, and Norma of Hawaii; 3 sisters, Julie, Rosemarie and Geraldine; brother, William Bilka Jr.; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He was an employee of Giant-Weis, most recently at the Conklin Ave. store; a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army; and a member of VFW #1449 Endicott and the Organization of Vietnam Vets. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Edward Zandy will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society , 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
