Obituary of Anna K. Avery
On July 18th Anna K. Avery departed this life to begin eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her loving and caring husband Ezra Avery. In June they celebrated 58 years of blessed marriage. Anna was predeceased by her parents, Kahadur and Almast Kernaklian, a Sister Helen Glover and an infant Sister unnamed. Anna was proud of her Armenian heritage and was a member of the Armenian Relief Society that supported orphans in Armenia. She was fluent in the language and helped her parents and others who needed help in understanding English. Anna grew up in Binghamton, graduated from Binghamton Central High, attended Ridley Lowell Business School, worked as a secretary for Broome County and later for Columbia Gas Company. Anna was gifted with a beautiful Soprano voice and sang duets with her husband, choirs and choral groups at various local churches. She taught Sunday School and was active in the local church. She was a member of the West Endicott Baptist Church where she found the Lord 58 years ago. She is survived by two Sister in laws, a brother in law and many nieces and nephews that she greatly loved and who loved her and experienced many activities with her. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be private for family members only. Calling hours will be 5-7 pm on Wednesday July 22nd at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, NY 13760. Funeral Service will be Thursday July 23rd at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Puckey will officiate along with Pastor Julien Wiel. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Cemetery.
