Obituary of James G. Makrilos

Endicott - Jim Makrilos, 53, of Endicott, New York, passed away on December 18, 2020. Jim is survived by his children, Stephanie, Evan and Felicia and grandson Noah. Also surviving are his three siblings and their spouses, Mary and Jay Quiros, Chris and Marian Makrilos and Debbie and Bill Dayton, along with nieces and nephews, Michael, Marissa, Christopher, Cassidy, Matt, Jaimie and Sarah, and many cousins and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Chris and Lorraine Makrilos. In addition to his family, he will be remembered by his girlfriend Terri Sessions, and by his longtime friends and "Toppers family", Becky and Billie Joe Rozelle. Jim owned Toppers Saloon in Endicott. As everyone knows, Jim was always laughing and making others laugh with him. He enjoyed time spent with patrons at the bar as well as spending time with family and friends. Jim enjoyed listening to country music, his favorite song being "You Are My Sunshine" by Johnny Cash, and was also a fan of the older television shows; we know that he has his feet kicked back right now as he enjoys watching all of his Gunsmoke re-runs. There will be a private service for family and close friends. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, a celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the American Stroke Association.
