Obituary of Shirley Jean Rackett

Shirley Jean Rackett (Nee' Walker), November 26, 1938 to February 2, 2021. Shirley grew up in Endicott and attended UE High School. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roger Powell, second husband Howard Rackett, Jr., parents, Evelyn Morton McKitrick and Gilbert Walker, brothers, Ed McKitrick, Donald Sherman and Richard Sherman, special aunt Virginia Botsford, and ex-son-in-law, Steven Van Dyke. She is survived by two loving daughters, Cindy L. Powell (Ronald Craig) and Candy L. Van Dyke, sister, Bonnie (Steve) Macinsky of GA, brothers, Gary (Chris) McKitrick, and Gene McKitrick of Berkshire, and several special friends. Shirley worked and retired from Owego Apalachin School District. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her country home, going to church, family times, and her special kitties. Special thanks to the staff at United Methodist Homes for their friendly care these past two years. Graveside services will be at the family's convenience.
