Helen Marie (Winckler) Morford of Vestal Helen Marie (Winckler) Morford, 75, of Vestal, died Friday morning, October 30, 2009, at the Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Marie (Sohl) Winckler; and a brother, George Winckler. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George Morford; her children, Karen (Randy) Templeman of Vestal, Edward (Linda) Morford of Illinois, David (Cindy) Morford of Binghamton; grandchildren, Susan Marie (Colt) Brumm of Verona, Steven Templeman of Johnson City, Michael Morford and Lea Morford of Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Kathie Winckler of Texas; sister-in-law, Gertrude Winckler of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Helen was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, working alongside her parents in the family delicatessen on Francis Lewis Blvd. She met her husband, George, while attending Syracuse University. They married in December 1952. George was deployed to Korea. Helen furthered herself at Time Magazine. After being reunited, the couple settled in Endicott in 1957. Helen graduated with honors from Binghamton University with an Art degree while raising her three children. She was a talented artist and a wonderful cook. Her biggest joys were spending time with family and friends. She was affectionately known as "BB" to her grandchildren, and greatly enjoyed them very much. Funeral and interment services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal. The Rev. William Prentice, Pastor of the Campville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Tuesday at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 p.m. until service time at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Central New York, 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760. We will always remember you at sunset.
