Obituary of Erik K Johnson

Erik was called to heaven on February 28th, 2021 after suffering from kidney and liver failure for the last few months. Born in Flushing, NY, he had lived in many parts of the state during his life. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Josephine and Walter Kemna and Ellen and Gustave Johnson. A sister, Elizabeth Johnson, a niece Kenyon and a nephew Philip, like Erik, left us way too soon. Erik leaves his parents, Hilde and Robert Johnson, sister and brother-in-law Karen and Philip Castoro, nephews, Jonathan and Michael and nieces Kirsten and Faith. Erik graduated from SUNY Broome and continued taking courses at SUNY Binghamton. Until more recent times, Erik was fortunate to lead a purposeful, caring and adventurous life which included working in engineering at GE, having a small shop buying and selling used cars and spending time with friends and family at home and on trips in the US and Europe. Many friends enriched Erik's life and they meant so much to him including Jeanette and Bill, Jane and Jason, Wendy, Todd, Pastor Nissi, Bob, Dan, Edie, and Gloria. His four-legged friends Scruffy, Harvard, Heidi and Tomcat, gave him many hours of happiness. Living Hope Church, with Pastors Jan and Tim Devine, is hosting a zoom memorial service on Sunday, March 7th at 4:00pm. For more information, email funeralinfo@ourlivinghope.church.
