Obituary of Helen E Cassin

Helen E. Cassin (Zeock), 96, passed away November 23, 2021. Helen was born in Endicott N.Y. May 26, 1925. She is predeceased by her Husband Richard W. Cassin; daughter Penny Cassin; son Robert D. Cassin; parents John and Gladys Zeock; brother Duane Zeock; sister-in-law Isabell Zeock; sister Barbara Zeock Porter; and brother-in- law Robert Porter. She is survived by many Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helen was a lifelong resident of West Endicott. She worked at the West Endicott EJ factory for 19 years. She loved to work outside mowing her lawn, and in the winter shoveling snow. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1700 and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1449. Helen was a fantastic baker and donated cakes and cookies many times over the years. She also was in the women's Honor Guard at Legion Post 1700 and volunteered often for events. Over the last several years she volunteered for the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, as she has family with Lupus. She was a Co-Sponsor for events and her support will be missed. Helen and her husband Richard loved to travel and go to his WWII reunions, where of course she would bake like crazy. They traveled all over the United States and enjoyed every moment. The family would like to thank her neighbors and friends for watching out for her over the years, especially Dawn Gaeta. The family would also like to thank the kind staff at Absolute Care for taking good care of Helen. There will be visitation Friday December 3rd from 5-6 pm, with a small service at 6 pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott NY.
