Obituary of Richard L. Traver

Richard (Dick) L. Traver, 79, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Marie (Joyce) Traver, mother, Dorothy Burns Traver, father, Wilmer (Bud) Traver, brother, John Traver, sister, Gloria Traver Ackley (Rich), brother, Douglas Traver, special life-long friend, Lou Wilcox. He is survived by his son, Charles Gilbert (Joyce), daughter, Kathryn Knapp (Thomas), grandchildren; Gregory Gilbert, Thomas Knapp, Kelly Griffin (Jesse), great grandchildren; Ariana Gilbert, Anna Griffin, David Griffin, Joel Griffin, Eve Griffin, siblings; Bobbie Vernon (Gordie), Raymond Traver, Larry Traver (Eileen), Lloyd Traver (Linda), Wayne Traver (Janet), John Traver, sister-in-law, Sherrie Traver, several nieces and nephews, special friends; Pat Wilcox, Roxanne Finch, Lucas Finch, Brian and Denise Klein. Dick graduated from Whitney Point Central School District in 1961, served in the United States Marine Corps, and worked as a driller at Edson Water Well Drilling. He was a member of C&H Recreation Club, Vestal Redman Club, and Founding member of Bear Swamp Club. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with and helping family and friends. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St. Vestal, on Sunday at 12 noon followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dick, can be made to Bear Swamp Club, C/O Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St. Vestal, NY 13850.
