Obituary of Mildred Claire Jones
Mildred C. Jones of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021. Millie was born in East Orange, NJ on January 23, 1925. She lived in East Orange and Bloomfield NJ until her retirement from the accounting department at Kimball Systems.
Millie was a woman of deep faith. She was a kind, caring person who believed in putting others ahead of herself. She spent many hours volunteering for church and community organizations. During WWII Millie volunteered as a Red Cross Nurse's aide, while also working full time. When her children were growing up, she was active in PTA, was always willing to support bake sales, and chaperone class trips. She was active in United Methodist Women, Church Women United, Literacy Volunteers, Endicott Women's Club, The Antique Society, and Broome County Doll Club.
Mil is predeceased by Morgan, her loving husband of 59 years. She is survived by her children and their spouses Nancy and Walt of Endicott, Tom and Linda of Tioga Center, and David and Jennifer of Austin TX. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren Tim (Susan) Jones, Holly (Dustin) Jones-Gros, June (Jordan) Anthony, Faith and Morgan Jones, and 2 great grandchildren, Kaylee and Bryce.
Millie was a member of Central United Methodist Church 17 Nanticoke Avenue, Endicott. A celebration of her life will be held at the church on April 9th. Rev. Dr. Michelle Bogue-Trost will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the service at 2.
The family would like to thank the congregation of Central for all the TLC they showed to Millie. We would also like to thank Dr. Duncan Sze-Tu and his nurses at Endwell Family Physicians, Campville EMS, and Lourdes Hospice for their care and concern for Millie during her illness. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Central UMC, Campville Fire Dept. 5623 State Rte. 17C Endicott, or Lourdes Hospice 4102 Vestal Rd. Vestal 13850 would be appreciated.
