Obituary of Olive W. Allen

Olive Wynd Allen passed away on June 8, 2022 at the age 91. Olive was born on July 8, 1930, in Tunkhannock PA, the daughter of Mary Welch Wynd and Robert Lewis Wynd. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer John Allen, Jr., and her granddaughter Maggie Allen. She is survived by her children Joseph Allen (Patti), Barbara Painter and Timothy Allen, in addition to four grandsons and three great-grandchildren. Olive is a former employee of Vestal Schools food service, retiring after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Vestal United Methodist Church and the Vestal Senior Citizens. Olive took great joy in cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren, especially on holidays and birthdays. She also enjoyed gardening, neighborhood lunches, trips with Vestal Senior Citizens, and bird watching at her home. The family would like to thank the staff of Lourdes at Home for the professional care they provided to Olive. According to Olive's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11AM on June 11 at the Overfield Cemetery in Meshoppen. PA.
