Obituary of Kenneth E Burbank
Kenneth E. Burbank of Glen Aubrey, born June 8, 1933, died June 18, 2022 at 89 years: He left his temporal and physical body to enter the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born to the late Edward and Elizabeth Burbank of Endicott, New York. He was also predeceased by his eldest son, Scott. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lynda (Lewis) Burbank; his daughters, Cheryl (David) Bloser, and Sandy (Bruce) Adams; his sons, Kyle (Elizabeth) Burbank, and Hill Burbank; his sisters, Jaqueline (Donald) Annis, and Linda Landis; his grandchildren, James (Naomi) Bloser, Kristen (Allen) Trent, Jonathan (Carolanne) Adams, Erika (Kenneth) Marble, Michael Adams, Curtis Burbank, Josiah Burbank, Abraham (Audrey) Burbank, Malachi Burbank and Isaiah Burbank; he also predeceased 9 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He graduated from UEHS in 1951 and the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences at Binghamton (State Tech) in 1953 before serving in the US army from August 11, 1953 through June 14, 1955. In July 1955, he was hired at IBM Endicott as an IBM Toolmaker Apprentice. Ken is a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He served as 1971-1972 Chairman of the Binghamton Chapter 35 of the society of Manufacturing Engineers. He took an early retirement opportunity from IBM in May 1984, retiring as a Department Manager in Test Engineering. Ken was an honorary life member of the Cayuga Lake and Glendale Beagle Clubs. He was inducted into the Better Beagling SPO Hall of Fame in 2013. He was a 30 year owner, trainer and breeder of AKC registered beagles under the kennel name of Eaton Brook Kennels. The most significant milestone of Ken's life occurred July 23, 1989, when wholly, by the grace of God, he and Lynda became born again Christians. They were baptized by Pastor Larry Hobbes and became members of First Baptist Church of Castle Creek, where, over the years, Ken served as church clerk, Junior boys Sunday school teacher, Sunday school Superintendent, Building Committee member, and trustee. In 1992, Ken received his AAS Degree from Practical Bible Training School. In 1995, Ken received his BRE degree from Practical Bible College. Ken prized the inspired Word of God, the Bible, above all his earthly possessions. From 1994 through 2005, Ken and Lynda partnered in ministry, holding monthly services at Vestal and Sullivan Park Nursing homes. In the spring semester of 1996, Ken and Lynda began assisting Campus Bible Fellowship, SUNY B Community College. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 o'clock, noon, June 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church at 1130 Castle Creek Road, Castle Creek, with dear friend and mentor, Pastor Alfred Hartwig officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Aubrey Cemetery. The family will receive friends, family and visitors prior to the service, from 10:00 A.M. until noon, June 25th.
