Obituary of Floyd J. Stout

Floyd J Stout Jr. (Joe), 78, of Endicott, NY went home to the loving embrace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday August 12, 2022. Joe was born and raised with humble, blue-collar beginnings in the small town of Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. To declare him a success would downplay the extent of all he accomplished in his lifetime. After honorably serving our nation in the United States Air Force, he began sowing the seeds of a fruitful life for his burgeoning family. With an enviable work ethic and a tenacity for giving his children a better life than he had, Joe worked his way into ownership of a successful and growing insurance agency. As passionate as he was for his career and clients, it didn't come close to the love and dedication he had for his family. His children never second guessed that their father would sacrifice anything under the sun to help them out in a time of need. Even at the very end of his life Joe was not concerned with receiving comfort from his family at his bedside. Conversely, it was Joe who bravely, lovingly and selflessly comforted them. Joe leaves a lasting legacy on those he has left behind; a legacy that can neither be recreated or destroyed. Wearing a bracelet that never left his wrist with the scripture Romans 5:3-5 inscribed on it, he didn't just recite the verse for his family, he lived it out for them with each and every intentional breath that he took. Those survived by Joe bear witness to this legacy and continue to reap the harvest that he sowed decades prior. Foremost, his wholehearted, loving wife of 55 years Marcia (Kohut). His beautiful and adored children and their spouses: Amy and Ted McDonald, Owego, NY, Karen and Paul Kane, Apalachin, NY, Lisa and Michael Brodnick, Dalton, PA and Brian and Wendy Stout, Vestal, NY. A baker's dozen of grandchildren: Joe, John, Jimmy, and Erin McDonald; Abbey, Emily, Jake, and Danny Kane; Grace, Madeleine, and Michael Brodnick; Caleb and Colbie Stout. Furthermore, Joe has impacted the lives of countless other family, friends, clients, and acquaintances who were blessed enough to have heard Joe tell one of his hallmark, hilarious stories, his indelible one liners, or glean some of his dearly missed wisdom. Next time you enjoy a hot cup of coffee (or perhaps a glass of chianti while listening to Dean Martin), watch a NASCAR race, an old episode of Gunsmoke, or play a game of aggravation with your loved ones, smile and know he has an endless supply of Dunkin Donuts coffee, the remote control, unlimited hours of recorded television and four yellow aggravation marbles in heaven. In lieu of flowers, Joe and his family would prefer your donation to Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry or St. Jude children's hospital. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Main Street in Vestal, Friday August 19th at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Sorrows Church from 9:30 AM – 10:30AM on August 19th, 2022.
