Obituary of Sharon J. Gillingham

Sharon Joanna Pate Gillingham, 72, of Little Meadows, PA, passed away on Sept. 21, 2022 in Binghamton, NY. Memorial services will be held at Little Meadows Methodist Church, on Sat. Oct. 1 at 5:30PM till 7pm. Upon Sharon's wishes, her ashes will be spread in the Gulf of Mexico by her family. Sharon was born in Tampa, FL to Bonnie Bernice (Weeks) Pate and Coy Pate on Aug 28, 1950. She went to high school at C. Leon King High School and graduated in 1968. She went on to earn a Certificate in Teaching from The University of the State of New York. She worked as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for Broome Tioga Boces for 35 years. She enjoyed helping and educating her students, gardening, crafts and holiday ornaments, sewing, and most importantly, spending as much time as possible with her loving and always growing family. Her love and passion would always shine in each element of her life around her. Sharon is survived by her husband, John Gillingham of Little Meadows, PA, brother Jerome Pate of Florida, daughter Anne Peck (Douglas) of Friendsville, PA, daughter Jenifer Novak (John) of Milford, CT, daughter Crystal Marek (Rick) of Milford, CT, son David Mosher (Shannon) of Milford, CT, twenty-four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Bonnie and Coy Pate, and daughter, Stacy Russel (Gorney). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who have helped us through this terrible time of grief for us.
