Obituary of Lewis D Bidwell

Lewis Dewitt Bidwell, of Endwell, 93, died at Guthrie Corning Hospital on Sept. 21, 2022 after a well lived life and a brief stay at the hospital. Lewis was born in 1929. Served in the Army 1948-50. Married his sweetheart Antonette (Nan) M. Tedeschi in 1950. They were married for 62yrs until her passing in 2012. Lew was a very hard working and dedicated to his family. He raised 4 children with strong ethics and taught them to work hard then enjoy life. He began his work life at Union Forge Hammer Room. He was grateful to be offered a job at IBM as it provided job security and steady work and pay. He retired from IBM Owego as a Quality Engineer after 37 yrs. He annually provided a 2 week vacation at their beloved Butterfield Lake for many family and friends. He was a lover of anything outdoors, Hunting, Fishing, Boating and Grilling spiedies. Lewis was predeceased by his Wife (Antonette), Mother(Hazel), Father(Floyd), Brothers (Oscar,Sheldon,Kenneth) Survived by: Brothers: Clifford, Johnson City, N.Y.; Larry, Englewood, Fla.; Sister-in-Law: Rose Tedeschi; JoAnne Fuller, A special late in life friend and companion. Children: Bernie(Cyndi) Bidwell, Annapolis, Md.; Brian( Jayne) Bidwell, Hector, NY Marie (John) Weyforth, Endicott, NY; Toni ( Nick) Taber, Johnson City, NY 6 Grandchildren: (April, Sheldon, Chrystal, Bobby, Jason, Dylan); 5 Great Grandchildren: (Alicia, Aaliyah, Alana, Branson, Lincoln). Lewis was a member of the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St, Endwell N.Y. Any monetary donations may be made to the church address above. Funeral Services will be held on Mon. Sept. 26, 2022 at 10 am at Coleman and Daniels, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, N.Y. Followed by procession to the Vestal Park Cemetery, 328 Main St. Vestal, N.Y.
