Obituary of Craig A Webster
Monday, October 24th, 2022, Craig A. Webster, WEBO, exited this life. He was reunited with his parents Ralph and Edith Webster, his brother Brian Webster and brother-in-law Carlin Pickering.
He is survived by his very own "Group W", loving children Kelly, (Fred) Porter, Grandchildren Brittany & Callahan. Great Grandchild Chase, "the Little Guy." Son Mark, (Heather, aka Nancy') Webster. Son Jason, (Jessica) Webster. Grandchildren Jason (Little J.), Ava & Xander. His surviving siblings are sister Gloria, (Ward) Finch, Sandy Pickering, and sister-in- law Norma Webster. He is also survived by the mother of his children Kathleen, in addition to several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Craig was born in Vestal and attended Vestal High Class of 1966. He went on to graduate from Broome Tech in the class of 1968. He spent 1969-1970 in Vietnam serving his country. There he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Two Bronze Stars, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars, and an Army Commendation Medal.
He was a long-time employee of IBM Endicott, serving as a Change Control Specialist. He was a lifelong Yankees Fan and Rock music devotee. He founded the air guitar, displaying his talents regularly from the Group W. Bench, adding music trivia questions in the mix to ensure you were paying attention.
Craig spent his last few years living at Oxford's Veterans home. There he is survived by his friends on the lunch crew and food committee, (of which he was founder and president.) They include Ron, John, Bob, Tom C., and Tom D.
A special thank you goes out to Amy Baldwin, Social Worker, whose patience and kindness did not go unnoticed when Father carried on his Change Control Specialist duties on Daily Operating Procedures, Security Issues and overall protocols. A special thanks to Linda for guarding his favorite T-shirts and many thanks to all other staff.
He is also survived by his favorite mail lady, "Terri with an I" and several waitresses, you know who you are.
Services will be held November 5th, 2022 at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Main Street Vestal, NY. Calling hours will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Military Service following at noon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a Veteran's cause of your choice in Craig's name.
