Obituary of Catherine M Brhel

Catherine M. Brhel, 69, of Harpp St., passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home. She was born in Binghamton, NY the daughter of Elroy and Pansy (Painter) Runyon Jr. Catherine was a graduate of Vestal Senior High School, class of 1971. She married James Brhel on November 26, 1972 at Disciples of Christ Church in Endicott NY. Catherine was a well-known Bank Teller, she always had a smile and loved joking around, she retired from Community Bank in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed being a vendor at Craft Fairs, crocheting towels, scrubbies and bow blocks. Catherine will be remembered for her kind smile, big heart and great sense of humor. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James Brhel; her daughter Sharon (Steven) McGarr; brothers Roy (Bonnie) Runyon, Ed Runyon, Scott (Tasha) Runyon, Dave (Lisa) Mathers; sisters Ginny Runyon, Kelly and Dakin, Lisa and Jim, Linda and Mike; grandson Matthew McGarr; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to Fitzpatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.W.
