Obituary of Jeffrey W. Hellmann

Jeffrey W. Hellmann, 60, of Apalachin, NY, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 24, 2022 at Wilson Hospital. Born December 3, 1962 to David & Bonita Hellmann. Jeff was a 1980 graduate of Ross Corners Christian Academy and a lifelong member of South Apalachin Baptist Church. He was raised on the Hellmann family farm in Apalachin. The skills he learned on the farm helped mold his desire to start his first entrepreneurial venture, Hellmann's Sales & Service, where he sold and serviced Patz farm equipment. From there, he went on to become a well-known, self-employed building contractor. He worked on many jobs throughout the area constructing residential and commercial buildings. Jeff was a true outdoorsman. Coyote hunting, trips to Colorado and camping were some of his greatest past times. He was an inspiring family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, 3 children and 2 new grandbabies. His positive simplicity was a trait that often left a lasting impression on those around him. Jeff was a fighter. He never let difficult times slow him down or stop him when most others would give up. Jeff was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Karl & Meta Hellmann, maternal grandparents William & Elizabeth Corson, and infant daughter Brittany Rae. He is survived by his loving wife Karen (Rossen) Hellmann, son Jason Hellmann, Apalachin, NY, daughter Amanda (Eric) McCarty, Baldwinsville, NY, son Caleb (Cassidy) Hellmann, DeRuyter, NY, grandchildren Roman & Savanna McCarty, parents, David & Bonita Hellmann, brother Chris (Renee) Hellmann, sisters Elizabeth (Earl) Comstock, Judith Comstock, and several nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Gehring, Dr. J Miller, Dr. Traverse, and Kristen Lewis for their compassionate care over the years. The family would also like to thank the staff on ST3, CVICU, ICU and the respiratory therapists at Wilson Hospital. The family will receive friends at Coleman & Daniels, 6519 Route 434, Apalachin, NY on Friday, December 30, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held at South Apalachin Baptist Church, 516 Penn. Ave., Apalachin, NY, on Saturday, December 31, at 11:00am.
