Obituary of Raymond R. Henkiel

Raymond R. Henkiel, 83 of Vestal, N.Y. joined his beloved wife Betty in heaven December27, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Predeceased by his wife Betty Henkiel, mother Martha Henkiel and brother Viktor Gergel. Survived by sister Rose Henkiel, son Jeff Henkiel and wife Tina, daughter Wendy Henkiel. Granddaughters Chelsea Henkiel, Samantha Henkiel and Marissa Henkiel (Joe Dollinger) and great grandson Kieran Westbrook. Many nieces and nephews Victor Gergel Jr., Kathy and David Hayter, Annie Gergel, Steven and Cindy Gergel, Michael Gergel, Bob and Miriam Wood, Harry Wood, and Paul Wood; including several other nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 317 for over 40 years. He then retired and moved to Florida where him and Betty enjoyed many golf cart rides together in his makeshift 57 Chevy golf cart. He loved his 76 Chevy Conversion Van (Black Beauty) and took pride in his collection of over 400 die cast cars and trucks. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 1 to 3pm at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 765 Main Street, Vestal, N.Y. with a service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer Association (https://act.alz.org) in honor of taking care of his wife Betty for many years.
