Obituary of Gary S. Hunter

Gary S. Hunter, 57, of Harpursville, NY went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Gary passed away with his family members by his side at his home in Harpursville, NY after a long and courageous battle with chronic myeloid leukemia. Gary was a proud and devoted member of I.U.O.E., local 158. He was a loving and compassionate owner of several dogs and would talk about them endlessly. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He is predeceased by his father Ayden Hunter, his brother Ayden James Hunter, and his sister, Cheryl Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Hartman) Hunter, Harpursville, NY; his mother, Crystal Howland, Binghamton, NY; his sister, Nancy (Larry) Harvey, Vestal, NY; his brother, Dale Williams, Nineveh, NY; his sister, Beth Hunter, Raleigh, NC; his step-sons, Dustin Coole, Windsor, NY and Bryan Coole, Villa Rica, GA; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at United Methodist Church in Harpursville at the convenience of the family.
