Obituary of Elizabeth E. Paul

Elizabeth Emily (Betty) Paul of Sutherlin Oregon formerly of Endicott Elizabeth Emily (Bates) Paul, 96, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, January 06, 2010. She lived in Endicott before moving to Oregon in 1999. Elizabeth (Betty) is survived by her son, Robert Paul and daughter-in-law, Jean Paul, Hampton VA; her daughter, Susan (Paul) Haskett, Endicott; her stepson, William Paul, Corry, PA; her stepson, Donald Paul and daughter-in-law, Leigh Paul, Concord, NC; 11 grandchildren; her brother, Ralph Bates; her sister-in-law, Helen (Rudatis) Rice; and 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Chester Bates; her husband, Chester Paul; her son-in-law, John Haskett; her step daughter-in-law, Patricia Paul; her brother, Robert Bates; her sisters, Lena (Bates) Steele and Mary (Bates) Blayle; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Bates. Betty spent most of her life as a homemaker and cared deeply for her family and friends. Betty was a devoted Christian who was an active member at the West Endicott Baptist Church. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." Psalms 23 Betty's family will have a private service at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
