Obituary of Joan E. Leone

Joan Elaine Leone of Vestal, New York passed away on April 28, 2023 at the age of 87. Joan was born on June 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to William and Catharine Letera. She is survived by her nine children and her husband of fifty years, Frank Leone. After meeting Frank on Long Island at Colonie Hill, they moved upstate where she began a career in nursing at Lourdes Hospital. In the following years Joan worked for IBM/Endicott where she eventually retired. While in retirement Joan continued to serve the community by helping seniors with end of life care. Joan was a highly motivated and spiritual woman who toured Egypt several times, furthering her enlightenment and serving as a foundation for her continued work for peace and better humanity. Her studies included Hypnotherapy; she was certified to practice and did so for over fifteen years. Joan was also a devoted animal lover and considered all of her many pets as her life companions along her journey. Joan Leone will be sorely missed by her family, her friends, and her community.
