Obituary of Mildred R. Hennessey

Mildred R. (Humphrey-Schneider) Hennessey of Johnson City Mildred R. (Humphrey-Schneider) Hennessey, 86, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Susquehanna Nursing Center, Johnson City. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Alice Humphrey; her first husband Adolph G. Schneider; her brothers and sisters, Edna, Williard, Walter, Minnie and Edward. She is survived by her husband, John J. Hennessey; her brother, Robert Humphrey; her children, Wayne (Karen) Schneider and Bette Schneider (Susan Klinger); and her grandchildren, Scott, Stacy and Susan; several nieces and nephews. Mildred was employed by the Gerhart law firm and was also Treasurer for the Johnson City School District for many years. She was an active member of the South Hills Presbyterian Church, Vestal and was church treasurer for many years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially the making of dolls and doll clothes. She was a resident of the Susquehanna Nursing Center for 12 years and the family would like to gratefully acknowledge all of the staff for their excellent care over the years. Funeral Services for Mildred will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 1 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home. 765 Main St., Vestal with the Rev. Dr. Stephen W. Starzer officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation in her memory to the Southern Tier Chapter of the Red Cross, 620 E. Main St., Endicott, NY 13760.
