Obituary of Michael D. Pratt

Michael D. Pratt, 60, passed away peacefully at Westchester Medical Center on August 20, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born on September 30, 1962, in Binghamton New York and was the son of the late Donald & Marilyn Pratt. He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Pratt, Mary (John) McMahon, Maureen (Tim) Roberts, his brother, Joseph (Debbie) Pratt; nieces and nephews, Ryan Pratt, Christopher & Matthew (Caity) McMahon, Allyson & Matthew Pratt, Lauren Roberts, Caitlin (Kyle) Christoffersen, Conor (Kasandra) Roberts. Special aunts, Isabell Hashem & Betty Pratt, his loving Godmother, Joan Ryan, and several cousins. Michael graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 1981. Alongside his father Monk, in 1982 he helped to re-establish House of Reardon on Binghamton's East Side and worked there for many years. Until the time of his illness, he was employed at Annseal, Inc. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Hillcrest. The family will receive friends at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 4 – 7 pm. Burial will take place at the Chenango Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you cherish Michael's memory and continue to share his stories. His enormous circle of friends was his second family. Michael was "hell on wheels" since the day he was born, and we will miss the laughter and smiles that leave us with lasting memories. Rest easy brother, your heart was larger than life.
