Obituary of Kenneth J. Richter Jr.

Kenneth J. Richter Jr., 68 of Little Meadows, PA passed away suddenly on September 19, 2023. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Lucy Richter and Father, Kenneth J. Richter Sr. He is survived by his loving Wife of 49 years, Donna; Daughter Kelly Corcoran (Tom) of Apalachin, NY; Son Kevin of St. Augustine, FL; Sisters, Jo-An Smukala, Lisa Smiraldi and Janice Barth; and Grandchildren, Chelsea Nora and Liam Kenneth. He was born in Spring Valley, NY and after High School he served in the U.S. Navy as a Jet Engine Mechanic aboard the USS America and USS Nimitz. He proudly served eight years achieving the rank of E-6. In 1990 Ken and three partners formed D & R Technical Solutions, starting it on the dining room table of his house. They formed what would become a multi-million-dollar international company with offices in Portsmouth, England and Endicott, NY. He retired from the company in 2020 to pursue his retirement dreams. After moving to Little Meadows 14 years ago, Ken became an active and devoted member of the Community, serving as Constable and on the Board of Governors for the Little Meadows Rescue Squad. Ken loved spending time with his Grandchildren, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking, but his full-time passion was beautifying his property in Little Meadows. He was a true master of all trades and never backed away from a challenge to repair something or make it better. Two weeks before his passing, Ken and Donna fulfilled a Bucket List dream by taking a two-week land and sea excursion to Alaska. Ken was highly respected as a Husband, Father, Friend, and Employer. He never forgot where he came from and always remained humble and kind. As one dear friend of his said "You will never meet a Greater Man." Funeral arrangements will be held on Monday, September 25th at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760. Calling hours will be from 11am to 12pm with a service to follow.
