Obituary of Salvatore A. Fauci

Salvatore A. Fauci died on December 1, 2023, in Lourdes Hospital at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary Fauci; and by his sister Joan Gallo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary (Murphy) Fauci; and six children, including two sons Michael (Darcy) of Endwell; and James (Jennifer) of Malta, NY; and four daughters, Lisbeth (Jeff) House of Orlando, FL; Kate (Rich) Fauci, of Syracuse; Jennifer (Brian) Winslow, of Belmont, NH; Christine Fauci-Wittman, of West Chester, PA; and two brothers Richard and Lawrence. Sal is survived by 15 grandchildren; Murphy, Thornton, Trinity, Atticus, Mary, Julia, Grace, Molly, Madeline, Annie, Sophia, Emma, Brian and Salvatore; also two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews whom he all cherished. A graduate of Rutgers University, Sal received his Law degree from the University of Michigan in 1958. Sal's entire life centered around his family. As a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, he was the ultimate role model to everyone. He loved to root for his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines. He was extremely generous with his time volunteering on several Boards of Directors including the National Public Broadcasting System, Christ the King Church, the Broome County Catholic Schools, the Broome County Bar Association. He was also a member of the Binghamton University Council. Sal was the founding chairman of the board for WSKG-TV and an International director of Toastmasters. In addition to his law practice, for over 5 decades, he was the Village of Endicott Justice for 18 years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Main Street, Johnson City, NY at 11:00AM celebrated by Monsignor John P. Putano Monday, December 11. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City immediately following mass. The Family will receive friends before the mass from 10:00 AM until mass starts at 11:00 AM.
