Obituary of Ethel Stratton

Psalm 31:28a "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Ethel (Nana) Stratton, 103, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin, the last in her family of her generation, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harry (Bud) Stratton, her parents, nine siblings, and two sons-in-law, Gary Tubbert and Jake Angelo. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Patti Stratton, Roanoke, Va; two daughters, Susan Tubbert, Syracuse, NY and Nancy Angelo, Apalachin; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher (Elene) Stratton, Roanoke Va., Juliann (David) Cuzelis, Dallas, GA., Leona (Al) Deming, Ovid, NY; Laurie (Rodney) Valentine, Apalachin, Cindy (Fred) Chandanais, Crossville, TN; Jerry (Nicole) Angelo, Candor, NY; Annette (Larry) Jennings, Warren Center, PA; Marcie (Joe) Angelo, Binghamton, NY; Shelby Robinson, Syracuse, NY; twelve great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren; also several nephews and nieces. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a member of the South Apalachin Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2023 at the South Apalachin Baptist Church, 4116 Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin NY 13732. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday at South Apalachin Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY, at the convenience of the family.
