Obituary of Jeannette L. Ostrander

Jeannette Ostrander (nee Ver Valin), 74 of Vestal, passed away at her home on December 24, 2023, after several years of declining health. Jeannette was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Pauline Ver Valin. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Kenneth Ostrander; her much loved children, Shawn (Amy) Ver Valin, Traci Ostrander; grandchildren, Gabby Lane, Kailee Ver Valin, and Liam Ver Valin; great-grandchild; Abel Austin; brothers and sisters, Debbie Ver Valin, Mike (Mary) Ver Valin, Paulette Ver Valin and Paul Ver Valin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jeannette graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1967. After graduation, she attended Central City Business school, class of 1968. Jeannette enjoyed a fulfilling career at NYSEG, where she dedicated over 37 years of her life in customer service. Her commitment to providing exceptional service and her strong work ethic had a lasting impact on her colleagues and customers alike. At her request there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
