Obituary of Janice W Reese

Janice W. Reese, age 79, a longtime resident of Vestal, NY, died on March 9, 2024 at Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Binghamton, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 52 years, William Stuart Reese, who died at age 80 on August 5, 2020 at Bridgewater Center. Born in Blossburg, PA, Janice and William graduated from North Penn High School and received Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics from Mansfield State College in Mansfield, PA. William served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960, and they were married in Elmira, NY in 1968. Janice received a Master of Science degree in Management Science, and William received a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, both from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Janice retired from her position as an IBM National Service Division business advisor in Vestal, and William retired from his position as an engineering manager at Link Aviation and its follow up companies in Binghamton. They liked to garden and travel and were interested in antique sportscars. They greatly enjoyed their longtime summer home in Cape Vincent, NY on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands and welcomed family and friends there. In addition to her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Viola Watkins, and her parents-in-law, Stuart and Mary Reese. Janice is survived by sisters Nancy (Howard) Wilson and Susan (Gary) Greenfield of Mechanicsburg, PA; nieces Denise (Michael) Cox of Harrisburg, PA and Jennifer (Daniel} Rice of Ashburn, VA; great-nieces Erin Cox and Claire Rice and great-nephew Danny Rice, and several cousins.
