Obituary of Ray M. Leonard
Ray M. Leonard of Endicott
Ray M. Leonard, 85, of Endicott, passed away after a brief illness Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Binghamton General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Etha (Yale) Leonard; two brothers, Roy Leonard and Robert Leonard; also two sisters, Irene Barnes and Marjorie Holbrook. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beatrice; his children: five sons, James and Michelle Leonard, Endwell, Kenneth and Christine Leonard, Binghamton, Stephen Leonard, Berkshire, Lawrence Leonard and Beverly Davis, Glen Aubrey, NY, Gary Leonard, Berkshire; three daughters, Carol and Bob Gage, Glen Aubrey, Christine Houston, Endicott, Colleen and Lawrence Donahue, Newark Valley; one brother, Roger Leonard of Davenport Center; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ray was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army as an artilleryman in the 69th Infantry Division. He was a retired IBM employee with 33 years of service and was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. Ray was a very devoted husband, father and a kind and loving man to anyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave., Endicott, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott, Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.
