Obituary of Ingrid K. Elliott
Ingrid K. Elliott, 97, passed to the other side peacefully on June 8, 2024. She was predeceased by her brothers; Roland, Norman, and Jacob (Lois) Kluger; brother-in- law Donald Elliott; sister-in-law Carol Elliott; and son-in-law Paul Martinez. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Harold Elliott (her Schatzi); daughters; Valerie (Bruce) Fineout and Vicky Martinez; grandchildren; Rachael (Shane) Hutchinson, Adrienne (Steven) Sutton, and Paul Martinez; great grandchildren Hollace Finver, Connor Hutchinson, and Charles Sutton; brother-in-law Robert Elliott (Ellen Shelp) and sister-in-law Violet Elliott; many nephews and nieces; and many dear friends.
Ingrid lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed staying busy. After many years of working in the Radiology Department at Binghamton General, she retired and volunteered her time with multiple organizations. She donated her time and efforts to AARP, The American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and The Endicott Women's Club. In addition to those organizations, she also found time to help out her church, Ideal Senior Living Center, and Vestal Nursing Center whenever she was needed. She lived by the mantra, "There is a destiny that makes us brothers: No one goes this way alone. All that we send into the lives of others, comes back into our own."
In her downtime, Ingrid crocheted and knitted many keepsake blankets. She also loved to cook and entertain for her family and friends. No one left her table hungry and everyone always knew to leave room for her home-made desserts. She delighted in drop-in visits, a spot of tea, and cookies (she always said, "I never met a cookie I didn't like"). Ingrid was easy to talk to and always willing to lend a hand, give a kind word, or listen to your troubles. We will forever miss her generous spirit, sweet smile, bone-crushing hugs, and sage wisdom.
Calling hours will be at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Avenue, Endicott on Monday, June 17th at 11:00 am with a funeral service at noon and luncheon following. In lieu of flowers, take time to express your love and appreciation to your loved ones.
