Obituary of Doris Wilson

Doris E. Wilson For everything there is an appointed time. A time for birth and a time to die. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 Sister Wilson suddenly entered into rest on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at age 76. She is predeceased by her parents, Allan Roane and Rosa McQueen; daughter, Sandra Y. Butler-Lewis; and son, Sylvester Wilson, III. She is survived by her loving children, Lorraine J. (Delano) Vaughn, William A. (Alice) Wilson, Larry J. (Connie) Wilson, Curtis (April) Wilson, Cheryl L. Wilson, SSG Aaron (Angela) Wilson; over 20 grandchildren, and many, many great-grandchildren. Doris was born and raised in Newport News, VA, and later moved to New York City where she continued to raise her family and further her education. She later moved to Florida and eventually to Binghamton, NY. Although Doris raised eight children and several grandchildren, she continued to pursue her passion for children and pursued an opportunity in the educational field. She continued to serve in this capacity until her untimely passing. Services for Doris will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
