Obituary of Linda L Browne

Linda L. Browne (Every), (Powell) of Binghamton, NY passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on 10/31/2024. She was born 05/12/1938 in Endicott, NY. Linda was predeceased by her parents Helena (Roosa) and Homer Every, first husband Richard Powell, granddaughter Christy, five brothers and eight sisters. Linda is survived by her children, Jeff, Vicky, Matthew (Cheryl), Patrick (Michele), Brian, Joseph and Linda (Ale). Linda is also survived by her loving sister Sue (Ed) Gentile of Bedminster, NJ., thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Vestal, NY Linda will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who always put her family first. Linda and her husband John, an active-duty Marine married in 1973. Over the years the family moved many times with Linda supporting John at every duty station by her involvement in the SNCO wives club, manager of the thrift shop at Camp LeJeune, administrative assistant at HQMC Enlisted Assignment Branch, combat arms unit, and manager of supply warehouse at Marine Military Academy. Linda played basketball and ran track at UE High School. Later years Linda was a competitive archer winning many tournaments, medals and trophies she also enjoyed bowling, playing pool, swimming and playing cards with her friends. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank Dr. Jerome Mikloucich and his staff at Guthrie Johnson City Senior Care and Guthrie/Lourdes Hospice for their thoughtful and compassionate care for Linda. True professionals. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 7 November 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 801 Main ST. Vestal, NY. The burial will be at Vestal Hills Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Coleman and Daniels. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Linda's memory to Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry.
