Obituary of George C. Goss
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George C. Goss, a father, brother, and friend, who left this world on January 2, 2025, at Mercy House in Endicott, NY. He was born on March 4, 1940, in Bradford County, PA, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and enthusiasm for the community.
George was the beloved son of Emerson and Mahala Goss, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward, Thomas, Richard, and James, as well as his sister Eleanor, all of whom will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved them. He is survived by his brother, John Goss; his sister-in-law, Shirley Goss; his daughter, Teresa; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, George served his country with honor and dignity. After his military service, he went on to have a successful career at IBM in Endicott as well as at Endicott Johnson Corporation, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Outside of work, George was passionate about many hobbies that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature. He loved working on garden tractors, went camping whenever he could, and found great pleasure in gardening. These activities were not just pastimes for George; they were expressions of his love for the outdoors and the simple joys of life.
George's viewing will be held on January 9, 2025, at Coleman & Daniels, 300 Main St. in Endicott, NY, from 5:00- 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy House, a dedicated place that provided him comfort and care in his final days in Endicott, NY, at https://mercyhousesoutherntier.com/donate.html in memory of George. A private burial will take place at Wysox Cemetery in Pennsylvania on January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Guthrie Hospice organization in Vestal, NY for their compassionate support and care during George's battle with lung cancer. Their dedication made a difficult time more bearable and is greatly appreciated.
George will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his compassion, strength, and unwavering spirit. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved by those he leaves behind.
