Obituary of Joan M Scott

Joan M. Scott, 85, of Vestal, died at Willow Point Nursing Home on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 peacefully with her daughter by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Scott, her parents Durwood and Mary Begell and her brother Mark Begell.

She is survived by her two children, Michael Scott and Laurie Dixon of Vestal, NY. Granddaughter, Lauren Rose Dixon, of Vestal, NY. Three great grandchildren, Liam Anthony, John Robert and Catherine Marie of Vestal, NY. Three sisters Carolyn Clark of Vestal, NY, Irene Herceg (Mike Herceg) of Endicott, NY and Marlene McNulty (Bill McNulty) of Endicott, NY. Several nieces and nephews.

Joan graduated from Vestal High School and worked at IBM Endicott following graduation. She worked at Binghamton University as an administrative assistant for 26 years. She retired at 59 and had a wonderful retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, going for walks and dining at her favorite restaurants.

She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows church in Vestal, NY.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Vestal, NY.
