Thomas Kincer
Thomas Kincer of Apalachin, NY Thomas Kincer, 67, passed away on Wednesday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day). He was predeceased by his son, Patrick; parents, Pierce and Mary (Kenyon). He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith (Ramey); son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Lisa Kincer; son, Scott and daughter-in-law, Juana Kincer; grandchildren, Tyler, Kylee and Sophia; sister, Eileen and brother-in-law, Brian Southern; sister, Helen and brother-in-law, Thomas Edwards; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was very intelligent. He graduated from Binghamton North High School and Clarkson University with a degree in electrical engineering. At his job with BAE systems in Johnson City, he worked on flight control systems for US fighter jets and retired after over 35 years of service. He also designed and invented a device for calculating a car's speed using road sensor-strips, which was used by Pennsylvania police departments in the late 70's. He enjoyed traveling and visited Hawaii, Australia, Denmark and Sweden in his lifetime. He liked to cook and was an avid reader. In his day he loved jogging, canoe racing and weight lifting. He completed the 70-mile General Clinton canoe race four times. Tom loved life and spending time with his family. He loved fishing and sailing remote-control boats with his grand-children Tyler and Kylee. He was a wonderful father and husband and through his life he loved and helped his family in so many ways. His family feels lucky to have had him and he will be greatly missed by all. He fought a courageous, lifelong battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Memorial donations can be made in his name to The Polycystic Kidney Foundation ( www.pkdcure.org) or the American Heart Association. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 365 Conklin Ave., Binghamton.
