Obituary of Aline Vargason

Aline Jane Setzer Vargason of Maine, NY Aline J. Setzer Vargason, 84, of Maine, NY passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband, Joe M. Vargason; her parents, Albert and Catherine Rose Setzer; also three sisters, Donna Hudspeth, Helen Snyder, and Catherine Setzer; and a brother, Albert (Mike) Setzer. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene Vargason-Bowell and Henry Bowell, Endicott, Jo-An Vargason-Morrison and Harry Morrison, Maine, NY; her only grandchild who was the greatest pride of her life, Zachary Bowell, Endicott.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Celine and John McGlynn, Wilkes Barre, PA, Marion Thomas, Endicott, Shirley Taffe, Dushore, PA; two brothers, Robert (Donald) Setzer, Sayre, PA, and Richard Setzer, Hartford, Connecticut; also several nieces and nephews. Aline married Joe Vargason in March of 1954 and was a devoted wife and mother. She worked at Endicott Johnson for 12 years until 1955 when she left to raise her family. The family moved to Maine, NY in 1974 where Joe was active in the fire department and the American Legion. A funeral service for Aline will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Timothy Dodd, Assistant Pastor of the Twin Orchards Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at the family's convenience in the New Era Cemetery, New Era, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Maine Volunteer Fire Department.
