Obituary of Leland Enos Stanton
Leland (Le) Enos Stanton of Endicott
Leland (Le) Enos Stanton, 84 of Endicott went to be with his Lord from Wilson Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 12, 2010. Predeceased by his parents, Enos and Blanche Stanton of Montrose, PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Alice (Benson); a niece and husband, Marilyn (Lewis) Stevens and Robert of Montrose, PA; two nephews, Richard Lewis and wife, Penny and Alan Lewis of Brackney, PA; three grand nieces, Constance Stevens of Montrose, PA, Amanda and Ashley Lewis of Brackney, PA and was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Hall. He was a retired IBM Corporation employee for 34 years working mostly in the Owego plant. A Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army Airforce. He was a licensed pilot &and member of the Tri-Cities Pilots Association. Also a member of the Flying Amvets, member of the Owego Elks American Legion, VFW and Endicott AARP. Leland spent a lifetime of summers at a cottage on Lake Page near New Milford, PA. Also enjoyed a number of winters in Florida. He loved traveling, taking his little dog for walks at the Tri-Cities Airport, gardening and reading.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott. The Rev. Susan Davis, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Endicott, will officiate. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in Leland's memory, may be made to the American Heart Association , 59 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
