Obituary of Dolores Zaleski

Dolores M. Zaleski of Endicott Dolores M. Zaleski went to be with the Lord suddenly on April 19, 2010 at the age of 74. She was surrounded by her family and friends who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucian and Helena; and her brother, Walter Dlugokiencki. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, John; and her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Matthew Weiner, Montclair, NJ, Therese and Andrew Kelso, Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Natalie and Sarah Kelso. She is also survived by a special nephew, William Levonne and his wife Barbara; great nieces, Stephanie, Julie and Laura. In addition she is survived by a sister, Genevive Dlugokiencki, San Francisco, CA; as well as all of her many relatives, in-laws and friends that meant a great deal to her. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was strong in her faith in Jesus, Mary and the Saints. She was proud of her Polish heritage. She adored spending time with her family and friends, and touched the lives of lives of everyone she came in contact with her amazing sense of humor. Dolores was an active member of St. Ambrose Church and spent many years volunteering her time with the Altar and Rosary Society. Over the course of her life she volunteered as a literacy teacher, catholic educator, and for the past 20 years has had a weekly devotion at the chapel of the Most Holy Family. In addition, she was also involved in making crafts with the residents at the Vestal Nursing Home. Prior to her marriage, she owned a beauty salon, Topaz, in Binghamton. Her many customers not only appreciated Dolores for her talents, but also for her friendship. Family will receive friends at St. Ambrose Church on Thursday, April 22, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., St. Ambrose Church in Endicott, Rev. Charles Currie officiating. Burial will follow the mass at Calvary Cemetery.
