Obituary of Evelyn Armstrong

Evelyn Elizabeth Armstrong of Endicott Evelyn Elizabeth Armstrong, 95, of Endicott, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Presbyterian Nursing Home, New Hartford, NY. She was born July 3, 1915 in Newark Valley to Fannie and Walton Millen. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert P. Armstrong; and her brother and sister, Fred and Freda Millen. Evelyn leaves 2 loving daughters, Elane Armstrong Barton of Shortsville, NY and Karen Armstrong Tiffany of Utica, NY. Grandchildren, Robert P. Barton (Jennifer) of West Seneca, NY, Mathew T. Barton (Jennifer) of Fulton, NY, Michelle Tiffany McQueeney (Shawn) of Utica, NY and Douglas M Tiffany (Angela) of Utica, NY. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed her times with family and never hesitated to join in celebrations or to give of her time when called upon. She loved to travel and had wonderful friends that accompanied her, many who have also predeceased her. Evelyn was a life-long member of Eastern Star and the Central United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Meals on Wheels in Endicott and at the clothing center at Central United Methodist Church. She also served as treasurer of West Newark Cemetery Association (Newark Valley, NY), for many years. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens in Endicott and Vestal and AARP. Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 28, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Newark Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 705 W. Main St., Endicott, NY 13760 or the Central United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 17 Nanticoke Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.
