Obituary of Fred Preston Wells

Fred Preston Wells Of Vestal Fred Preston Wells, 88, of Vestal passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Bertha Wells, a brother Robert and a nephew, Randall. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alma (Cheeseman) Wells, two sons; Michael (Wanda) Wells, Fl and Alan (Venus) Wells, Hurley, ; three Grandchildren, Preston, Matthew and Robert Wells. Two step-grandchildren Molly and Michael, a sister-in-law, Alice Wells, Texas and several nephews. Fred was a veteran of WWII and served as a Liaison Pilot in the Army Air Corps and was awarded the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a 34 year retiree of IBM Endicott working as an Engineer. He was also a member of the Air Commandos, VFW, Endicott Post 1449 and a member of the Vestal United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal with the Rev. Michael K. Willis of the Vestal United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive their friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m.
